Certification in the national system of Kazakhstan

Obtaining a certificate is a necessary procedure for any respectable company, for which the image of an enterprise is important. With the help of this procedure, manufacturers can declare that their products meet quality standards. Once obtaining certification, companies are not afraid of any quality checks performed on their products, and therefore can perform as a competitive segment in the market. Plus, the availability of a certificate allows companies to expand the sales circle, which ultimately leads to profit.

A certificate of conformity of the Republic of Kazakhstan (GOST K) is a document certifying the conformity of products to the requirements established by the Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of technical regulation.

Confirmation of conformity of products in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan can be mandatory or voluntary. For the purpose of the confirmation of conformity of products with mandatory requirements of the legislation in the field of technical regulation (first of all, quality and safety requirements), a mandatory certification procedure is conducted.

In order to ensure the safety of products for human life and health, the environment, national security and competitive domestic products which are conforming to regulatory documents and satisfying the requirements of consumers, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the List of Products and Services which are the subject to Mandatory Certification, Government Decree of April 20, 2005 No. 367. Moreover, on the territory of the EEU, by the decision of the Customs Union Commission of April 7, 2011, No. 620 the Single List of Products is approved, which is the subject to mandatory assessment (confirmation) of compliance within the customs union with the issuance of uniform documents.

The certificate of conformity of the Republic of Kazakhstan is sufficient documentation for importation, customs clearance and sale of products specified in the certificate if this product  is not included into the Unified List of Products which are the subject to mandatory assessment (confirmation) of compliance within the Customs Union with the issuance of uniform documents and is not covered by National legislation in the field of industrial and fire safety of the country.

The certification procedure generally looks like this:

  • Application for the obtaining of the document;
  • Collection of necessary documentation;
  • Selection of the sample products and it’s analysis;
  • Description of the results and preparation of the final documentation;
  • Issuance of a certificate of conformity.
